  • Our fee for prenatal, birth and postpartum midwifery services is $5500. Additional expenses you may incur include those associated with supplements, lab work, ultrasound, childbirth education etc

  • Yes, we offer comprehensive insurance billing which includes verification of benefits, request for in network benefits and submission of your claim once care is completed. Laboratory and ultrasound fees are billed directly to your insurance. We accept Virginia Medicaid.

  • Appointments are scheduled once a month until the 28th week of pregnancy, then twice monthly until the 36th week of pregnancy. Weekly thereafter until delivery. Postpartum care includes a 24-48 hour visit in your home, then a return to the birth center at two and six weeks postpartum. Additional appointments will be scheduled if needed and our midwives are on call 24/7 to respond to concerns and answer questions via text and call.

  • Yes, we offer in house labs and referrals for ultrasound. We offer affordable lab pricing for those without health insurance and for those with insurance, both labs and ultrasounds will be billed to your policy.

  • We tend to work in groups of three which includes one licensed midwife and typically, one to two student midwives.

  • This is completely up to you. We do ask that small children have an adult available solely to provide for their needs.

  • Yes! We have two birth suites one of which has a deep soaking tub, the other a luxurious shower built for two. Birth tubs can be purchased for home birth.

  • There are both urgent and non urgent reasons why a mother or baby may need to be transported from the birth center or their home into a hospital. The midwife’s responsibility is to identify the complication, provide treatment while facilitating access to the hospital provider. This includes calling ahead to notify the hospital-based provider, determining best mode of transport (private car or ambulance) and sending health records. Our midwives do not have hospital privileges but will continue to provide support and advocacy at the hospital. Postpartum care resumes with a home visit by a midwife after discharge from the hospital.

  • We do! A certificate of live birth which includes a request for a social security number will be completed at your postpartum home visit.
